The Kaiyukan Aquarium was closed on 2 March, but returned to operation on June, after an interval of about three months.

It reopens with reservations for up to 50 people every 15 minutes, in addition, people go through the thermography device, a device that checks the body temperature at the entrance and in the queue people need to keep a distance of 2 meters.
