Chiryu Koubousan Henjouin Temple

It is a temple with many Buddhas and Gods. In Japan to many Buddhas and you can find almost all Buddhas and Gods in this Temple. Every year the ceremony is held (Hatsu Koubou Daihannya Gum Kitoukau) or prayer mass for the Buddhas and Gods. It is a traditional event of the Chiryu city.

It's a day of prayer. Every year in the month of March the event is held (Mass), where the Shinto priests perform the ceremony of the requests and wishes of all to the Buddhas and Gods.

This ceremony has been held since ancient times in Japan. On January 21 on the ancient calendar that corresponds this year to March 8.

The ceremony begins at 9hrs and runs until 14hrs. People of all ages attend this event to thank and make their requests, such as a better life, protection, health, money, etc.

Inside and outside the temple there are several statues of Buddhas.

  • 子 育 弘法 大師 Kosodate Kobo Daishi: Buddha of children, for protection and health of children or even to get pregnant.
  • Iz 子 堂 Mizukodou: Buddha of children who die in childbirth or before birth.
  • Ent 天堂 Bentendou: Merchants Buddha, to attract many customers.
  • Ak 師 堂 Yakushidou: Buddha, if you have a health problem such as an organ that stops working, the person himself asked to die before the health problems get worse.
  • And many others
