Yatomi (弥 富 市) is a city located on the coastal plains of the far west of the province of Aichi and 20 kilometers from Nagoya. The Yatomi area is 48.28 square kilometers. With a population of 44.427 inhabitants, including about 1.370 foreign citizens, of which approximately 418 are Brazilian (data town hall 2020).
The name of the Yatomi area appears in documents from the Kamakura period, as part of the ancient province of Owari. Yatomi was proclaimed a village in August from 1903. Then the village of Yatomi and Nabeta, the southeastern part of the city Emura, is merged in 1955 and becomes Yatomi-cho. Yatomi-cho and 14 mountain villages are merged on 1 April 2006 and become Yatomi City by the execution of the municipal organization.
The city has a climate characterized by hot, humid summers and relatively mild winters. September it is considered the wettest month. Temperatures are higher in August reaching 28 ° C, and lower in January around 4 ° C.
Kainan Kodomo no Kuni (Children's Country): it is a park 100.000 square meter children's pool with lots of free toys and a summer pool.
