Toyoake-shi Yutaka Light City
Toyoake (豊 明 市) is a city located a little west of the center of the province of Aichi and is in the southern part of the city of Nagoya. The Toyoake area is 23.22 square kilometers and is the 30th city in Aichi Prefecture. With a population of 69.066 inhabitants, including about 2.535 foreign citizens, being 955 Brazilians, 425 Chinese, 369 Philippines and others (data town hall 2.020).
The area of modern Toyoake was part of Owari province and was the site of many battles during the Sengoku period. It was part of the Owari Domain properties in the Edo period, in the Shogunate of Tokugawa. Toyoake became a village in January 1951 and was elevated to city status on 1 August of 1972.
The city has a climate characterized by hot, humid summers and relatively mild winters. September it is considered the wettest month. Temperatures are higher in August at about 28 ° C, and the lowest in January at about 4 ° C.
